Woohoo Monday!!! That is definitely not the most common word used to describe Monday but today it is the way I feel! The last few days have been filled with cleaning and laundry and packing. One day I WILL learn how to NOT over pack.
It’s almost time to leave for out Thanksgiving trip. In just a few short hours we will be loaded up and on our way to our first stop, Santa Claus IN. I’m so excited I barely slept last night. It could have been a mixture of excitement to leave and the remnants of excitement from the movie I watched before bed. Yes, I will admit it. I’m a Twilight fan! I by far like the books over the movies (I usually like the book better then the movie) but the last movie was by far the best. Back to my trip, I can’t wait to see my family! Typically we only get to visit twice a year. I believe this will be our third this year. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite trips though. We hang out, we cook, we shop and we craft. There will be pies and turkey and ham and tons of other awesomely homemade treats. We will scrap and make bows and hopefully my Nanny can fix my sewing machine. The kids and dogs will play and it’ll be great!
But before we get all the way to Nanny’s house, we will make a stop in Indiana. We have been stopping in Santa Claus on our way home for the past 4yrs. It’s became part of out Thanksgiving tradition. This year we are stopping on our way to Thanksgiving Dinner. We visit the Santa’s Candy Castle, where we get a hot chocolate (27 flavors), maybe a piece of handmade candy, a new Christmas book, and check the naughty/nice list. Checking the list has become one of my favorite parts. Kids are able to chat with an Elf via the North Pole Network. They answer a few questions about the past year, tell Santa what they’d like and then they are presented with a certificate for being on the nice list. The owner prints this certificate and in front of the store presents it to the child and everyone claps and cheers. The owner is super nice and great with kids. They also allow the kids to make snow. Other stops we make include the Santa Claus Museum and Village, Santa Claus Christmas Store and Evergreen Flower & The Holly Tree Gift Shop.
I could go on and on but I’ll save some for another post.
For now I’m going to double check my list and hope I have all I need. Have a great day and I’ll have Santa Claus IN pics tomorrow.
