It’s Monday morning. And I’m very thankful I was able to wake up this morning, fight with my son to get dressed, eat breakfast and bring him to school. It’s been a week since my last post. I was very busy last week and while I was starting to get stressed with it all, I now wouldn’t change it for anything.
Last week I help the PTC with Santa’s Secret Workshop. I was at the school everyday 8-3. Some days earlier and some days later. I was starting to stress because I have shopping to do and gifts to wrap and cookies to bake for cookie swap. But after Fridays events I’m so happy I was able to spend the week at my child’s school. I can’t fathom how some one can look into a child’s eyes and make the decision that man did. I had spent the whole week looking into the smiling faces of my son’s school mates. I have met all the teachers at his school. Seen them in their classrooms. Watched them with the students. I can’t imagine what the parents, family friends and town of Newtown are going thru. My son and I wore green today to remember. He’s only 5 and doesn’t quite understand. But my child is in kindergarten and his teacher is a close friend and many of my other friends are teachers and have children under 10. And as I sit here at the school, in Santa’s Secret Workshop, while I wait for the music program to be over and parents come shop with their kids. I am very thankful that I am here, my son is here and all the teachers and students are here.
